The moments before the beginning; lines. Diagrams, sketches, signs that carry everything within them like some kind of embryonic seed of thought which later develops and proliferates into thousands and thousands of lines covering up the paper by the square metre. Here the line is neither a drawing nor a plan but merely a medium and the language of thinking; recording, clarifying and deciding. It is a malleable state between writing and drawing which with one single well-drawn line is able to condense within itself lengthy written lines and images, and to inspire new ones.
