My son Gergely is just over two and a half. He spends hours a day drawing while constantly talking and asking questions, sometimes singing. He “processes” the events of the day through drawing and intertwines the stories he has heard or seen and constructs them in his own way. His mental development is closely connected to drawing. His ideas are reflected by his drawings and this has a feedback effect on his thinking. We never teach him how to draw. He starts by himself and finishes by himself. His development derives only from his own personality, without preconceptions or inhibitions, in which unorganised ideas become structured and then become the inspiration for new, previously non-existent ideas. In this way his development is exponential.
