“CITY” “DESIGN” “CREDO” “BELIEF”

Architectural drawing is my “father tongue”. I started copying my father’s drawings and designs for houses at the age of six. Now that I am past sixty it is rather “city ” - “design” that occupies me in the “belief” that I can entice one of my grandchildren – even if but for a short while – away from the screen and acquaint them with the experience of self-expression through drawing. The outlines of the “city” as strange imprints on the face of the earth have already aroused their attention and they can show the streets where they live on the map. It is my belief that the city as a “topos” is one of the most complex ideological and cultural phenomena; therefore, their study will continue to be important. However, it is of essence that we redraw by our own hand the maps representing their evolution. This is my “credo”.
